After a trying transplant from the
East Coast in the summer of 2000, my husband Larry and I
initially settled in Santa Clara in the San Francisco
South Bay area. One
busted gaming company, an attempt at an
out-of-the-garage startup, and 9 months later, we found
ourselves in the East Bay, living in sunny Walnut Creek.
Larry gained a solid foot in the Internet gaming world
working for Electronic Arts at their Maxis studio, we
bought a house,
and I quit my job to finish my Master's degree and
pursue my dream of a writing career.
Four years later, the gilding had quite worn off the
EA prize, and Larry tried starting his own company.
Coincidentally, he met up with the CEO of an existing
company with a similar vision. Much wheeling and dealing
later, February 2005 set us off on our next California
adventure: in L.A.
Two years later we agreed L.A. had its plusses and minuses, and by now the minuses were winning out.
So we've put the Woodland Hills house up for rent till the market stabilizes, and moved back
into our house in Walnut Creek, the place we both feel has become "home."
Now we're ready to embark on a new chapter; who knows what's in store?

As the daughter of a retired US
Army officer and a Master's-prepared nurse/nursing
instructor, I have learned the importance of discipline,
order, compassion, and education.
As the older sister of
a crime scene investigator, I have learned the importance
of responsibility, measuring the impact of my actions on
others, and paying the strictest attention to the
tiniest details.
As one of a close-knit group of six
friends scattered from West Coast to East Coast to
(cyclically) overseas, I have learned the importance of
adaptability, patience, and loyalty.
As the wife of
a computer
scientist, I have learned the importance of honesty,
trust, and compromise.
These are the gifts that I bring to you through my
writing, whether it's something personal like poetry and
fiction, or professional
contract work.

I've lived in Virginia (twice),
Germany, Maryland, Kansas, Texas, and now California.
I've travelled to Barbados (twice); St.
Lucia, St. Croix, Puerto Rico; Guadalajara, Mexico; Cote
d' Ivoire; Canada (inumerable times); Italy (Rome
twice, Rimini, Cinque de Terre); Amsterdam, The
Netherlands; and Greece.
I've worked as a dental assistant, a tour guide, a
meeting planner, a Webmaster, various administrative
assistant roles, and a consulting firm project manager.
I'm a huge fan of gardening, real-life
medical/surgical shows, home improvement projects,
science fiction and horror stories, cheesy tearjerkers,
and the sport of ultimate
frisbee.
All of these experiences, and the knowledge they've
imparted, help me to bring a well-rounded
perspective to everything I do.
